What is it?
This is a 6 watt outdoor LED UV light at 395 nanometer wavelength, or 12 watt outdoor LED UV light at 365 nanometer wavelength, or 30 watt outdoor LED UV light at 365 nanometer wavelength. UV lights are also known as "black lights." I imported these to safely illuminate outdoor Halloween props. They are waterproof so they can be used in sun or rain. They have a 4 ft cord with a grounded triangle plug. The 6w and 12w UV black lights look the same. The 6w light consists of six 1 watt LEDs. The 12w light consists of six 2 watt LEDs. The 30w light consists of 20 1.5 watt LEDs. Beam angle on all three is 60 degrees.
The dimensions for the 6w and 12w are 3 3/8 inches high x 4 1/2 inches wide. The body is 3 inches deep.
The dimensions of the 30w is 9 1/2 inches x 8 inches x 5 1/2 inches.
How much UV glow will I get from them?
The second and third pictures in the listing are of the black lights shining on a spider web at night.
The second picture is using the 6w 395nm light. 395nm UV lights are more efficient that 365nm lights so the 6w 395nm light produces almost as much glow as the 12w 365nm light. But 395nm is on the edge of the UV spectrum so it also produces some purple light in the background.
The third picture is using the 12w 365nm light. Even though the wattage is double that of the 6w light it only produces about 25% more glow. 365nm is deeper into the UV spectrum so you do not see purple light in the background.
In both pictures more than half of the light in the background is being caused by a street light that is across the street from our house.
In both pictures the lights is on the ground 20 feet in front of the web as shown in the fourth picture.
How long will it last? Is it good quality?
The body of the light is made of aluminum and should last a lifetime. The LEDs are rated to last 50,000 hours. The lights are imported from China. We inspect each one to make sure all the screws are tightened.
The lights I have purchased from other China suppliers do not have the ground wire connected to the body of the light. We paid extra to make sure our supplier connects the ground wire to the body of the light. We check each light to make sure the ground wire is truly grounded to the body. This is a safety issue, the light is not truly an outdoor light if the ground wire is not grounded to the body. We only ship lights that pass our inspection.
Mounting
The black lights have a bracket which swivels. You can mount the light on a wooden stake as shown in the last picture of this listing. The picture shows a light with a grey body. The lights sold will have a black body.
When will it ship?
Your light fixture will ship the same day if payment is received by 2:00 PM Central Time and will ship the next business day if payment is received after 2:00 PM Central Time. All orders are shipped via USPS Priority mail which normally takes 2-4 days to arrive.
